Gardener of life
Please take your shears
And trim away
Dead branches
of unforgiveness and strife
out of this self centered life

rake away daily
the scattered leaves
of pain and life’s regrets
let the songbird of joy
find it’s way back home
in my heart again

let me bask in the sunlight
and soak up all of Your spirit
allow me to take pleasure from
Your life giving water stream

plant the seedlings
of peace, hope and
forget me not’s
in the bedding of my soul
let it grow strong and beautiful
for others to benefit from

allow me dance with You
on the green pastures
of Your back yard
in the safe haven of all
Your unselfish love
