Knowledge Worth Knowing

Once you know,
You cannot UN-know.
When one crosses thresholds
There is no turning back.

Many stand
Gazing
Through the portal,
Powerless
To lift the mist,
Revealing reality,

For their world
Would change
As they now
Know it.

They spend a lifetime
Denying their soul;
Ignorant
Pretending
Not to see.

Is ignorance truly bliss?

A mind chew, you might say.

A thoughtful poem. In need of knowledge that is not easily reached people might get disappointed and tired of the fight. As you said: "Powerless/To lift the mist,/Revealing reality"

Thank you, I find this poem very interesting.
