lifetime

I was born such a long time ago
I've had many dreams
and I've got a long way to go
farther than it seems

no matter how hard I try
I can't get you out of my mind
even though we said goodbye
the love you gave to me
will last a lifetime

I wear my old soul on my sleeve
I'm walkin in these shoes
I'm tryin hard to believe
I'll get over these blues

no matter how much time goes by
I'm just not satisfied
no need to have another try
I've loved and I've died
through many lifetimes

my family wants to know I'm fine
I tell them I'm okay
I'm earning my wings, I'll fly
don't know how to say

I want some things not meant for me
I wasted what I had
must learn to let your memory
make me feel glad
for the rest
of my lifetime
