Waves crashing on the beach

Sway sway swaying up and down
Filling, draining the edge of the beach
Eating away sand
Taking it with thee

So soft, so harmless
Yet so powerful too
A sound so gentle, so soothing
Crashing and energetic too

A contrast of polarities
Mere softness to complete strength
I sit here in complete awe
Speechless but in full respect

Nature has been kind to you
Mankind not so true
Marine life, movement, mobility
Mixed with tragedy, disasters, abuse

I’d like to see a future
Where a balance can be found
For our children and grandchildren
Before greed will abound
