Another year went by
We all laughed
We all cried
We watched little ones go off to school
For the very first time
We even said goodbye to others
A year filled with butterflies and millions of books
Half hearted glares and some dirty looks
We watched little girls walk across a stage
For fun and not envious of each other
We met many new friends
And kept good care of the old ones
New family members joined us
And we celebrated too many birthdays to count
We had parties and shared memories
Both good and bad
But for me it was the best year I ever had
Because I learned even though you sometimes feel alone
With friends and family you are never on your own
So goodbye 2012 you will me missed
Welcome 2013 and bring us more laughter and joy
More family members, little girls and boys
I have memories from many years past
And for me for a lifetime they will last
