Alone in a Crowd!

Trapped in my lonely mind!

Alone in a Place called Hell

The torch of hell

I know it well

It’s where I dwell

Tis a lonely room

Tis my prison's tomb

Tis my wish to leave it soon

All alone

I want to roam

Dam, hell is home

Oh, piety me

Oh, can’t you see

Oh, it’s not where I wish to be

I want to go away

I do not want to forever stay

I want to leave and play

Hot is hell

For some sinners, it is swell

It’s not where I wish to dwell

Oh! Piety me!

Some, like it hot

Florida it’s not

It’s a place where your sole will rot!

There’s no one left for me to share!

Let me out ….. I’m so alone!

Like a fishbowl smashed upon the floor

Someday I will be no more!

Alone in a crowd

Poet in a lonely Hell of his own making!

Strange - I'm also alone , but I never feel "alone in a crowd " .
Is it because of my nature ... character ... many other things ?
is it because I feel loved by my Creator ? Is it because of my love towards people ?
Anyway - I was emotionally touched by the poem, JimEee !bouquet

I've felt like this all my life, so I can understand. It's exactly how you describe. I sometimes think this is a natural condition - some realize it, some fail or obstinately refuse to do so. Life's a competition of lonely souls seeking for distraction from loneliness and imagining things for making life livable. Life's a game, all you have to do is pretend that you are not lonely. Hence all this fuss about nothing.
Cheer up, sir, better your loneliness stay in your poems where it belongs!
My best wishes!hug bouquet

Ah! The happiness of a Poet
is to touch one's emotions
with penned thoughts whatever they may be!

So happy that you're not lonely in a crowd
and you realize that the creator loves you!

Tis true life is a game ...
A shell game with a pearl
as a prize ...
which is you ... a friend

Touch not my soul when I grow old
for lonesome is what it's meant to be!

A pair of shoes
A pair of gloves
A pair of flying doves

Where is the mate of the pair
for me?

Life is just a bowl of cherries!

Tis true ...
One is born into this world alone
and one goes out the same way!

But, Tis not to worry
Though in-between it would be nice
To have a beautiful butterfly
Near bye to share a field of flowers!

Some people 'live' in the crowd, they become part of it easily becoming an element of the occasion for the gathering. Writers often don't do this, either by choice or compulsion. They remain the observer and gain much inspiration from what is going on around them, collecting images, words and feelings to put into a piece of something special later on. I used to think there was something wrong with me that I could 'switch off' without intention from being part of the crowd, now I understand it and go along with it though sometimes I wish I could just 'be' part of it.
A thought provoking write JimEee and it seems Marikia has experienced the same thing.
