Lover's Loyalty

My spirit
Refuses
To let you be
Every time you try
Ignoring my words
Like rain showering you completely
They soak into your memory

Your minds eye
Is forced to read me
As I hold myself up to your view
Specifically
Constantly
Irreverently even
Repulsed
Is what you could feel

Yet
Your will refuses to let you
Turn away from me

As I’ve captured all the thoughts
Once were yours
I cherish my lover’s loyalty
Behind closed doors
But, why do you want to see
Or keep my truth
When so many others want you
To want theirs too

And
As each new wind blows you dry
I’m passed by
Yearning alone
In your absence my soul stirs to cry
So now with abandoned tears
I fill up your heart
Where feelings
Like seedlings
Mature from the start
And fate
No longer designs ways
To keep us apart

Then
Each moment
Your eyes look deeply into mine
It’s never going to be possible
For us to say goodbye
Pointless we know
For us to even think it
Or try
As our lives have become one
So closely intertwined
Awake and asleep
We breathe
And
Think alike

Inertia
Has finally lost its power
To divide
