Very exspressive moonlove. I think you mean that if you live a life just to exist you will not feel the sorrow of pain or loss. However you will never know the joy and happiness either. I think the joy is worth the possible pain. Live for each moment and have no regrets.
I can feel great sadness in this poem for one so young, who has so much to do and achieve in their life. There is a tremendous amount of emotion in this poem, and that can only come from memories which I feel cause the sadness within the poem. You are a very emotional young lady and that shows. Live for today and let the past stay in the past. i may be wrong but thats how it strikes me. I hope you find the happiness that you deserve in this life. Take care rob
Hi Moonlove I get from this a mind set of fear to take a chance to add happiness to one's life, because of the what if syndrome, which eventually will lead to regret of why didn't I take that chance I had right in front of me! Ty for sharing an hope this helps you understand more of whats in the poem:)

Dear sweet Moonbeam,
The poem really says - there are no guarantees - the only certainties are death and income tax.
Do the best you can and take life as it comes.
Most of us have our fair share of blessings and otherwise.

Dear MoonLove, To quote Andrew, Aha! In search of the same meaning I ruined all my life. I was led to Fitzgerald's
"The worldly hope men set their hearts upon Turns ashes—or it prospers; and anon, Like snow upon the Desert's dusty face Lighting a little hour or two—is gone."
And now I've reached this corner. Please just accept the kind words of our nice friends Boyshchrm and Trurorob. What they say is philosophy made simple!

I think this poem is cleverly written from a total different angle little moonlove-the poetess takes you to the if you didnt's so you can realise and be thankful for what you have - and she wants the reader to realise it.I like the poem.Big hug for you for sharing it
Moonlove...asking these questions shows you are on the right path. There is much love, beauty and compassion in you...show the world who you are, who you want to be :-) Much love and gratitude to your wisdom displayed here today.
