He may come suddenly like the wind Your heart is captured by his essence and you desire to open the choice treasures of your soul before his viewing To soon you let his eyes savour the subtle moves in the way you walk In eagerness you suggest the heat of the night before he has earned the right to touch your cheek Speak not to his imagination before he has tasted the wine of your sorrow Do not so soon throw the pearls of your love at the feet of an ungrateful soul to be trampled in the dust Present to him in strains of eloquence that his is a season of testing and he must brave the storms of your whispering winds, before he feels the thunder of your passion Tread softly on the coals of your heart's destiny Reveal yourself in small morsels of kindness and test his empathy to communicate Do not offer him the history book of your life if he cannot read between the lines And finally, test his faith If he cannot be true to his God why..would he be true to you?
I could not agree with you more....I am like a book I have many pages....So don't try to read the last page first

We must test the waters. Are we speaking to the wise one, or to the foolish. Are they given to sudden change..here today and gone tomorrow? Do they wear a cloak of false humility, and are they well versed in the subtle art of flattery? Will they tell us a thousand truth's just to destroy us with the one big lie? Will they do anything we ask under a false alligence until like sheep lead to the slaughter we are under their total control? Just stuff to ponder.

Beautiful words of wisdom, Cafe. If only women waited before rushing into relationships , hopefully we will heed!
Thank you for sharing!

Jim,
Of all the poems of yours that I've read ~ I think that by far ~ this is the finast.
Not only is it beautifully penned, but the contents are so meaningful and so very, very true.
If we're lucky, there may be times that we can back-track and still wind up on the path ~ other times the damage of 'too much-too soon' ~ can not be taken back.
Thank you for 'bringing this one back'.

Mady..
Thank you dear. Actually I think there may be quite a few like this one in my batch but I'd have to dig for them. I forget what I write after a short while.
What a beautiful write Cafe. The wind always hugs us so dear, be soft, be strong , our mother nature loves us as our God created... Been out for a short break here but will be posting soon. Had a fire recently and lost 90 % of belongings but my life was spared and neighbors thanks to our Holly God... SM

Sometimes we're all a bit foolish and tend to
rush into things. Not cool.
