Hibernation

All is done now and I packed all into my saddle bags,
mounted them on to my new horse with all country flags.

Riding slowly away from rugged mountain terrain which was, for so long my home,
Mixed nostalgia setting in but I am finally free to roam.

My horse leading me on to a steady path along thorny hedges and trees
Accompanying us now are just the squirrels, birds and bees.

We will feed of the the land and the ground will be our bed,
tranquility setting in at sunset on this long ride ahead

Now darkness is breaking in and my horse and I settle down for the night
the wind is blowing a gentle breeze around the now roaring fire's bright.

I made my bed in the undergrowth and fall asleep under the sky of infinity stars
peacefully I hibernate without surrounding concrete towers or any noises of cars.
