Death of a Player

Your heart ached and pounded away like mad
deep down knowing that he was not here to stay
finding out just to be another number on his pad
nothing to hold on to whilst he roamed astray.

A love which was not meant to be after all
as playing games was not her strong hold
when she came crashing down with a hearts fall
to a pretentious loving soul who's heart not shone like gold.
