It Hurts to Lose at Love!

It hurts to lose at love
When that’s what hearts are made of
A break can profoundly ache
And there seems no way to rise above

Pride can’t even hide
The lost look within our eyes
As we try to recognize
That our feelings can be a lie

Is it me, is it you
Are we all just too obtuse
Or are we merely pretending
While we wait for someone new

Questions without the answers
Leave us empty, pining for more
How will we ever believe it
If real love does come to our door

It hurts to lose at love
If the heart we give isn’t good enough
So how can it ever mend
After rejection tears it up

IT HURTS TO LOSE AT LOVE

Hi Bella-nora... I really enjoyed reading this. I agree, it does hurt...we all know that sort of pain. Still life goes on and must remember we hold the key to our hearts. I am unsure "if the heart we give" means your heart or the other's heart. But if it is yours...you must never think it isn't good enough. It's the best you've got and the one that hurts it is the one that's not good enough.
I believe in loving ourselves first as our main priority...because we cannot give what we do not have. Ergo... when our heart is full of self-love (without being egotistic of course) ... none can hurt us so much...because our hearts are full of love to start with. And if we look at it (separation) as a chance for something better to come rather than having lost or rejected... it can help take away the hurting and self-pity teddybear handshake comfort bouquet
