bloom fades off the rose

the bloom fades off the rose
dew is entrapped in icicles
green carpet of spring mutes to dull graybrown
fragile flowers die off around
petals littering the ground
helping resurrect the soil in spring

my love for you knows
no such seasons
although my heart is frozen
unused uncherished
when you left

the hope of spring remains
buried deep dormant winterland
of emotion
far under the natures seasonal concrete
of broken hopes
i had
you would reciprocate
that affection

hope is a seedling
of faith
to love again
its desire to feel eros
will unchain my heart
set the captive free
