an older post i am reposting after reading RavensGold "Game of Death" and Odettas "Gray Wolf" and so this is my contribution to the matter of irresponsible pet owners and cruel SOB's across the globe. If you click on the poem itself you would see the hound dog beside it
Thank you Mr MMPNUnO1B, hope your in better spirits today my friend, glad to see you stop by...Jesse

As I read your poem I thought this can't be true all the people I know love their dogs and treat them like kids. Me I am often left bewildered at such dedication. Don't get me wrong I would not could not hurt an animal. Then yes it is true some people are cruel to animals too. I enjoyed reading and the dog looks ahhh lovely forlorn as it were.
Hey Red, well yes unfortunately there are a lot of pet owner who lack that resibility. Sometimes animals are the unfortunate kick ball or just simply tied up in the back yard and forgotten. I thank you for ur time and thought. Always my pleasure ...Jesse

Dear Jesse,
This is a truly excellent poem, I love it, I would love to print this off for my daughter Lisa, she owns a dog salon and is getting to meet so many different pooches. Lisa is like me, we care more for animals than some of the human toads that suround us. My heart melts when I look into those beautiful eyes here. Well done, and thank you for this gem of a poem. :-)
Hi C , thank you and sure I wouldn't mind that at all. If u want I will send it to your box if it allows files or u can hit up my private email and I can send it that way. Thank you again...Jesse

Hey Bill, I am glad you appreciated this write and letting me know that it did it's job in a manner of speaking. I know how sad it is to lose a loved animal especially one who is faithfully loyal and to repeat it through the years. Thank you for your time my friend. Always glad to see you...Jesse
Jessy...thanks for sharing..I didn't see this in your earlier post...but Oh dear...it made me shed a tear. Right now I am staring in the eye of a dog...a dog I at first refused to acknowledge because it belongs to someone...who could take him away from us anytime...but each day like onion skin I began see layers of his emotions.....until somehow I began to see myself in him...loyal..longing for...wanting...craving for...always hoping for...love, affection, attention...and though he's not mine...my heart cries for him each day. You just might have inspired me...his name is Buck...my one true friend...
Thank you Oriental, I appreciate your time and that is a lovely story. My dog minnie was supposed to be just a temporary rescued dog in my custody until she was adopted. And the same layers started peeling for me too so very nice way you described that. She was kept in a small kennel for the first five months of her life in a garage and covered in a sheet. So she never knew how to react when I took her on her first walk, silly dog would bark at rocks, fire hydrants, one time even a flattened frog on the road. Quite comical but then again said. So I wrote this for her one night when she kept gnawing at my arm to play but I was too busy for her . Needless to say Im not too busy for her anymore. I take her on walks , rides, swimming, she is a lot of fun but just needed to discover each other...Thank you for sharing and replying...Jesse

I so enjoyed your flow of words. But, my true "experience" of this write, was a grave sadness. As an animal lover, the torment I experience when slapped with this reality, is beyond what I am able to spiritually/emotionally handle. The impact, in fact, is so intense that I automatically go "numb." As such, the fact that someone else could make a point of writing about it was very rewarding. Thank you
Thank you very much LW, I am an animal lover as well and it's disappointing how a life can be treated. Thank you again for your time and thoughts…Jesse
