Waking Up

The night softly whispers to my dreams
let her free,
she belongs to the day that tugs at her eye lids
The day that cracks her lips and draws that finally goodbye to the twinkling twilight dance that plays in her mind
Warm rays that sneak through the cracks in the window shades
Sunlight on both knees begging for a smile

Part her lips and free her breath,
so that she can wake to the new day
that sits patiently on her pillow

Her smile
Her tender submission to the morning hours
that wait with gifts of unknown wonders

I have scene beauty and I have seen perfection
But nothing can break my stride like her smile in the morning
Nothing can move my world like she can when she releases her first words upon the new day
How she holds the sun in her eyes
and let's the warm glow gives birth to every moment afterwords
