Reflecting.

If I had no memory of my past, do you think I’d be who I am today?
I think I am coming forward, though it’s, I am told, the wrong way
Is my looking for happiness really just a form of self-obsession?
Perhaps it may be time to take stock and review, yet, another lesson.

Seems today if I have any desires or dreams, then this deems me weak
My Life is fine for some, as long as I don’t offer an opinion and or speak
Perhaps it is again time to quietly fold my tent and slip away at night
Seek out a new place, and life, and just give up, on this, right now plight.

Maybe as suggested I just lack substance and drift like litter in the wind
Could also be a form of payback, only God knows how much I have sinned
My hurting from within myself means zero, nothing at all to anyone but me
If only, it was this easy to let it all go, then perhaps I might get myself free

Why do I even care, is one question I do not have the answer too
The time I have spent seeking an answer, if I found it, what would I do?
Maybe the time is here to wipe away all of it, ignore all that I have found
Then to step out of this twilight haze and place my feet on new ground

Frankly I'm too tired to think not that I can alter anything that’s been said
Again in reaching yet another meaningless conclusion, best I go to bed
For when I wake tomorrow morning, I will still be just only imperfect me
Will any of this make an ounce of difference? well let’s just wait and see.
