I heard your testimony the Other day.. Your message was honest And heart felt You were a christian and an Aspiring minister But you were still struggling With temptations You smoked cigarettes and You took women to motels You kept whiskey bottles In your closet You cursed to much But still you loved the lord and Hoped He would change you Because..you didn't have the Strength You felt powerless to change But when I listened to your sermon I could see how sincere you were And I loved you all the more because I was no different than you The only difference between me and You is I didn't get caught in my immorality I've always thought I should be up there Preaching right beside you but I was to Ashamed of all my miserable failings God needs someone a whole lot better Than me to stand up and preach I'm so beat down to the pits of hell that I'll never be qualified to preach anything To anybody I told you these things in private and you Listened with a smile on your face I thanked you for hearing me out and I Hoped you wouldn't hate me for my Pathetic failings I stood up and grabbed my coat and hat In a kind and compassionate voice you Said, 'I'd like you to preach next Sundays Sermon..' I said, 'You can't be serious..' 'Don't you understand that I'm a total Loser?' The preacher calmly replied, 'Now that You've been beaten down to the dust and Have discovered that no one is worthy you Are qualified to share the story of God's love.' 'Only the sacrifice of Christ and his atonning Work will get you into heaven.' 'There's nothing you can possibly do or say That will secure your salvation outside the Sacrifice Christ made for you on the cross..' The following Sunday I stood behind the pulpit And opening the grand old book, I read this Scripture.. 'There is now no condemnation for those in Christ.'
It is clearly evident that you have wisely spent a good portion of this Sunday morning pondering this incredible selection of words. I love spiritual/religious poetry for many reasons, the main reason being that it is based on pure truth. This is an extremely powerful piece of writing....love this, probably the best I've read from you ever.
Hi, cafetwo2010, I've always thought I should be up there Preaching right beside you and now the narrator is. It's nice when life works out to an agreeable conclusion and one ends up right where they wanted/expected to be. Thanks for sharing Beautiful, glorious you are

I fully agree with the comments. This is something worth reading and rereading. I wish everyone read and understood your message, which is crystal clear: no man is alone, no man is unprotected, everyone enjoys the privilege of being loved and cared for in an equal way - it is such a relief to know about it! Thank you, dear Cafe, for sharing this knowledge with us! Kindest regards!
