I Still Carry The Scars

Yeah
I admit
I still carry the scars.
How's that for honesty?
It's not easy to admit anything.
Age has certainly got a lot
to answer for.
Horror stories from my past
are thankfully shrouded in the mists of youth
the land of
"Did I say that? Did I Do That?
We all have skeletons in our closets
Some of us have graveyards
It's only sane to conclude
that we all bear some scars
No Matter how fine
feather- tipped
lip brushed kissed
a scar is a scar.
But for me to actually reveal and acknowledge
you know how secretive I can be
it's just part of my chemistry
give me the respect I've earned.
We're all in this healing process
together
Some of us need
Deep strength healing
to erase the pains of life
to ease the pain of our Ancestral Lives
Physical scars heal over a matter of time
Spiritual scars
Mental scars
take
a
wee
bit
longer.

About this poem:
Just a short note to remind us all to try to be gentle with each other, we are all fighting some sort of battle sometimes despite looking calm and at ease with the world:)

This really speaks to me I am glad you can put into words what we are all feeling.

Well written. Your poem holds so much truth.

i agree that your style is welcoming...here's a quote i came across the other day and have been thinking about, along your lines...see what you think:

"Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal." - Albert Camus
