What makes for a good education system?....Is it learning of our people and lands and a very broad range of knowledge to include the arts, economics,world politics , world history and cultures...that promote advancements in Sci. and astronomy? Or is it one that simply teaches it's people how to be able to live comfortably and provide for the needs of their family and local community and country?
Two very different Educations ....both very important , the latter worked very very well for our country in the early years ....but as time changed we had to adapt our system to stay competitive on the global market... I feel we still have a long ways to go here globally.
Back in the early 1800's say .....It would not have served the student well to learn say European Culture if the student will be a farmer as his father was....it taught the student what was needed for him to succeed in his world.
Barring Saudia Arabia & Pakistan, all other countries have the best education system.
In this Group however, as a fundamental right enshrined in the constitution, EU Countries barring UK have the best education system because it is either free or paid for in advance via taxes collected.
Lower education definitely not the USA but IMO, the U.S. has good higher education colleges....Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc. I was surprised that Japan wasn't on the list.
