single4ever: Trying to think where I fit in. I am not shy, awkward or a loner. I like sci fi, but also enjoy being with various groups like the military, playing in a military band, the Fire Department clown team, various charity events, the symphony, walking clubs, sewing clubs, wine tasting, and love to travel. I am very much into physical activities like kick boxing, weightlifting, hiking, and cycling. I very outdoorsy and love fishing and camping.
As for geek; I am not a computer expert but know my way around one and don't do morbid or disgusting acts.
So, I am neither a geek or nerd according to what you say. Am I just special?
I think you might have to wait and as Santa that if you don't believe you answered your own question....
On another note, maybe familiar to you, I am trying to replace an ashtray my father brought home from Belgium after wwii. Unlike what I find on the internet my dad brought home a really nice peeing-boy ashtray in bronze. Maybe you can tell me where I can find a close replacement to how they were made between 1938 and 1945, The ashtray was about 4"x4" square with the pee-boy standing about 4" tall in the center. sorry.... for
I tell you what (and because I'm a real nice guy -AHEM!) I know the kind of ashtray you're talking about, seen them before... I'll have a look around Brussels and chances are I'll stumble on one of those in one of the many shops here. If I do find one, I'll buy it and send it to you free of charge, cool?
plainlyjune: "beam me up scotty, there's no intelligent life down here" *energize*
Ooooops!! The teleporter crew hasn't arrived back from leave yet and you've been teleported to the other side of the galaxy, only you got there inside out!
I forgot to mention the ashtray also has a cigarette-rest in each corner.
definitely cool! but i couldn't accept it for free..... unless if it's not to expensive, maybe you could donate it to the memory of the 82nd airborne which my dad served with while there, then.

Okay! To the memory of the 82nd then. Will be my pleasure to honor those lads!
Glamslam: So glad we went for the quiet cottage by the sea program instead of the cruise.....wow!
Yeah, LCDR Laforge hadn't yet finished troubleshooting that program and it seemed that the holograms were missing their skin (or was it their clothes? I can't remember) and I did enjoy the breeze whispering through the Acacia shrubs, the complaints of the seagulls in the morning, the swaying of the wind-tight leisure boats' colorful sails and their waving passengers, the occasional barking of a dog in the distance, and, of course, the great company

The chocolate strawberries on the laid back sheet was a lovely touch with champaigne, it was clothing they missed that's why the boat people were waiving at us. Yes the company was wonderful

Ooh, that's why that young lady couldn't stop giggling The strawberries were a very nice touch, yes. I'd have to say that all the credit is yours, why with such inspiration a guy can't go wrong...

Yes she hadnt seen a white man naked before. Just another glitch in the program we'll have to inform Lafoge to correct so we're not interupted next time.

No doubt... I'd say that new visor of his has some glitches! But he promised me next time that cottage would be on a deserted island. One can always hope he'll find the coding language for it, right?

We'll have to keep him to his promise then. A promise is a promise....

Well, yes, but Laforge always seems to have some kind of excuses to shirk his duties. Last time he said he was waiting on a nano-pump, the time before that he said he was too busy trying trying to program Data to be less of a dork... Looks like this time I'm going to have to take care of it myself. I just hope I don't screw up and drop us in the middle of Central Park.

Yes he is! And I had all those gorgeous little outfits I had to wear but you never got to see them because of his shirking. And you never know what he's doing and what he's seeing with that visor of his anyway. Makes me feel uncomfortable sometimes the way he looks at me ...lol
single4ever: I love it and its much easier arrangement for a band to play than the Star Wars theme.
The song was originally by Rod Steward but got remade for the show by Russel Watson. I have both versions of it :) Russel's version is far nicer than Rod's.
I been trying to find a full length version of the remix from the 2nd season.
Mermaidon: Note to self: Never start a poll again.
Ah, you gotta love these folks on CS with their charming wit and offbeat sense of humour.
Oh, incidentially John Williams wrote a very simple arrangment that had Indiana Jones, the Imperial March, and the Olympic fanfare. Being a musician; I do enjoy all the Star Trek and Star War themes as they certainly add much to the movies or tv shows.

Yeah, I gotta love it, I'm a part of it
It's clear that the movie soundtracks enhance a feature film, Star Trek would be pretty dull without it's easily recognizable themes and Star Wars owes part of its success to John Williams.
Being a Geek is not a fashion choice! An interest in Dungeons and Dragons, or Star Trek or whatever doesn't make you a Geek. (Maybe just a sci-fi fan, or in your case a Trekkie, Trekker, or whatever).
I'm a Geek. I've earned the title, and I'm proud of it. While there's a fuzzy correlation that people with an aptitude for science or technology will appreciate sci-fi - we're not all into Star Trek.
I might watch the original for its nostalgic value - but I was never into anything beyond that. Yet I got into other shows like Lexx, Firefly, Lost, and The Lost Room - because they were clever and original.
Well, I guess I can admit that I am a little bit of a Trekie myself, although I missed out on a huge amount of Star Trek during my travels, and when I eventually had access to a tv, I was (and still am) pretty confused over which series was which!! I think I probably saw ALL the original Star Trek's as a kid, have seen some of the series inbetween and have seen all the movies. Loved the last one, and can't wait for the next one!! Yippee!!
