The math is "resting" heart rate.... adult, 1 breath each 5 seconds, child, 1 breath each 3 seconds, so...
adult...12 bpm times 60 = 720bph times 24(hrs) = 17280 beats per day...
child...20 bpm times 60 = 1200bph times 24(hrs) = 28800 beats per day...
the question would be , who would actually sit and count their breaths for an entire day?....
looking at the numbers there, its a lotta counting involved...
