PJ1961: It does seem we are in a backwards progression. Forever to repeat the mistakes of our past/future.

Why is it, do you suppose, I feel like I'm in a Uni course reading a textbook passage every time I read your responses?

Pretentious git.

Naaa, I'm just very serious when it comes to anything political and with me most things are political.

PJ1961: could be you need a month at Roca Verde near Dominical in Costa Rica. Take a surfboard.

Seriously, get a little sunshine

I'm just morbid. I actually enjoy staring dark, dreary, ugly reality dead in the face....

Possibly because I don't have a girlfriend. Although, I'm heading your way to South America(Brazil)in a month's time to correct my past love mistakes.. wish me luck.

silly young man.

and when you say you prefer history over conspiracy - you apparently did not read the Congressional Investigation information, if that isn't historic and very political, I don't know how to help you.

Appearances.. I'm one man in private and another man in public. Contrast is King.. and still, with a personality like mine you never know who you're going to meet next.

yes nuclear power through uranium is available and is efficient and clean.
The rest mentioned in your poll are neither efficient nor sustainable. Why didn't you mention burning wood or whale oil!??
Bout the same primitive, polluting technologies as what you've mentioned!!

Nuclear energy is anything but "clean".

It generates highly toxic waste that will still be deadly for millions of years. And there is no truly safe way of storing it.

Yes! Being in a country with a lot of sun and wind this is very valid. applause Do you think also - maybe - small scale hydro at rivers with some 'drop' ?

One instructor years ago took the class to his cabin north and east of Arcata, Calif (in the Trinity Alps) to show us his off the grid set up, he had one small wheel in the creek to produce enough electricity to supplement his solar system.

Only called clean because the waste is hidden under the carpet.

I know that the earth keeps on spinning. North and south poles = magnets. They make the world go around. The EBM 720 is a generator that has an extra set of coils OUTSIDE of the inner coils to capture more of the wasted energy that the first set of coils is loosing/letting past.

When your basic premise is wrong everything else that follows is at best suspect.

The earth is not 'powered'. It still has the spin it had when it was formed several billion years ago as an object moving in a vacuum has near enough no friction (Its been suggested that a day probably takes an hour or so longer now than when the world was new due to gravitational drag from passing other planets and the moon regularly...)

Also, what you describe is impossible. If it were possible it would be being done for profit.

US has been dumping nuclear waste in the oceans for a long time
First off their own coastline, then mid ocean trenches.
I'm guessing other nuclear countries do similar!

Here's the second piece to this puzzle...

I would like to use your comments in a short paper for my proposal at

Buying Time: Rapid Impact Rules

to provide a sort of "citizen feedback" piece. The "short paper" would be noted in references as a google doc.

If any of you Do NOT want me to quote you (anonymous if you wish)

Please tell me in this thread or in my email at CS and I will Honor that.

Be sure also to tell me if you need anonymity and are ok with me directly quoting you.

Thank You!
