I fainted when they took me to the hospital. I think it was a bad injured. Got some bruises too over my legs and hands. Ohh i got hit by car btw . Twice in a 1 year. I guess is enough not to drive it again on a highway . Traffic is a big disaster in Jakarta

Driving in december... it was cold, it was wet, I was in an ageing Ford Mondeo heading down from Sarratt to Croxley on the winding road. Had to make a fairly left hand bend in a 60mph/100kph zone. It was wet, so I braked down to 40mph/65kph and came off the power to glide through, safely, or so I had planned

There was something on the road, I only saw it at the last moment, a shred of torn metal, and the right hand front tyre which was bearing 60% of the weight of the car as I swung left while decelerating , went right over it and exploded.

the steel rim dug into a pothole and the car snapped round to the right hanging its entire weight on one stopped wheel. It ripped the wheel, suspension and steering rack right out of the car leaving me doing 35mph downhill on 3 wheels with no steering or brakes. I carried on for a further 10 metres in which time I spun through 720 degrees then hit a tree

Mondeos are tough. One of the reasons I bought it - years before I'd witnessed one having what should have been a fatal crash and yet the driver got out alive - and so did I, but badly shaken. The whole event from seeing the thing on the road to hitting the tree seemed to happen in slow time, I didnt fade out of consciousness but it seemed totally disconnected and oddly calming, as if i was a spectator to what was happening. I only knew I'd reacted at all when I found the bruises inside my fingers from clenching the wheel.

I was I believe totally convinced i wasnt going to get out of it alive. I dont recall consciously thinking anything except 'oh well....'
