Does age matter to you (speaking about adults here) when your with someone or are you self conscious about what others think if your with someone who's older or younger than you? maybe a 5 yr age gap or more.
I think it has to come down to how a person feels within themselves. Myself,i would feel rather stupid walking down the road holding the hand of a twenty year old woman. I cant see why any woman of that age would want to have a man of my age as a boyfriend.
It only makes a difference if you let it. When I was with a guy 20 years younger the comments I received were overwhelmingly positive. But it really wasn't about what other people thought, it was about how we felt about each other.

If she would have no problem walking down the road holding the hand of an old goat like you, why should you feel stupid?

Glatlol: No option on the poll that suits me Jazz so I couldnt vote. Yes IMO age matters a lot.
I agree. This question comes up time and time again in different forms, but I always respond in the same way. Unless there is money involved huge age differences rarely last.
I'm not saying relationships with much younger or older cannot be fun, because I know from personal experience they can. However, for long term relationships, a big no.

I'm 40+ and relatively open minded about most things in life but my prospective better half can't be any less than 30 or I'd feel like a cradle snatcher .

I actually agree with you here. age differences rarely last although someone here might throw the spanner in the statement.
I have had two relationships with age differences a younger model of 15 years and an older model of 10 years and neither lasted more than 2 years but while they lasted both were good experiences.
If you do want long term then I am sure the same age would be better JMO

Someone may well "throw a spanner in the works" but they will almost certainly be talking about a relationship which has ended. Perhaps not entirely for reasons related to age, but I'm sure some element of it probably resulted in the break up.

.....man your good...... .......................................................................................................................................... <<<<<<<<<<<<
Glatlol: Thats an odd statement considering my age is clearly displayed in my profile anyway I look my age, so what?
I think you better go invisible, (and don't think about it) and your profile as well. We're not no young sprung chicks. But I think your older than me.

What are you talking about man? Are you trying to tell me I should leave the site?
Unless you lied on your profile I am not younger than you.
I have the feeling you are trying to insult me but havent got either the brains or the balls to simply do it directly
