MrRick77: Is it ever ok to take your engagement or wedding ring off ?
The only time it's not okay to take off the rings, is when you're using it to make yourself look available. It's not a sin you know to take them off for a good valid reason.

I think there are times that might be impractical to leave on some jewelry, say diving in the deep and the very high risk of losing it or surely other moments or situations like in a machine shop there have been far too many accidents that ended up with the loss of a finger because of a ring. So even if it is not a ring with certain sentiment it could be dangerous. good question.

What happens if by some reason, you become allergic to the rings? What happens if you want to take them off when having a shower or a bath? What happens if you took them off your fingers and wore them on a necklace, because rings feel uncomfortable on the fingers?
Wearing the rings shows that you are committed to the one you have married. The wearing of the rings has been around for centuries, and like I said in another feed, about greed and selfishness, love and lust. If you can't commit to your partner, why marry in the first place? It's not about the rings, the rings are just a symbol of unity and love.[/quote|"the rings are just a symbol of unity and love" good point but I'm not on about all that stuff.but yes good point Doc.what I'm saying is why rings to prove to the world or any other folk when it should be between just 2 in love.no need to go else where, let else where come to love as in 2 people and not the other way round.just saying dude

I take my engagement ring off when I go swimming or anything that could cause it to slip off my finger. I'm not doing it for any other reason, other than I do not wish to lose it.

Of course it is. I used to take off my wedding rings all the time.
Doing dishes or cleaning bathrooms, comes to mind. Anyone who has ever had to wear close fitting gloves, like Dr.s or laboratory workers. Those who work with harsh chemicals or solvents absolutely remove such jewelry.
