Yes, it is. I've had a couple of dates from this site, and found one special man that I'm building a very good friendship with, with hopes that at some point in the future we will have more.
In the past year and a half, I've had a couple of dates with men from other sites, too...and one of those still remains a friend, though nothing more will ever come of that one.
Good luck...and it's just as worth the effort as any other means.

smarty10k: I've been doing this online dating thing for over a year now and am not too thrilled by the results that I've gotten. I have met a lot of new people, but most of them don't ever take to time to meet me in person because they are either busy or just don't care to. I've had one date through this site in the past year. Granted, I could do more to get more exposure and participate in the forums more than I do, so it is partly my fault. What are your experiences with online dating? Is it worth the effort?
I have not dated anyone from this site yet..I just have not gotten to know anyone well enough to care to.. but there are a few I am thinking maybe.. could happen, given a bit more time.
As for the forums.. not sure how that could help.. in my experience the "one on one chats" are a much better way to get to know someone.
I have been close to a few frequent posters and one in particular who wanted me to come be with him, and I was attracted to him,and there was soemthing there. .. but ya know, he seemed so wrapped up in the forums, I always felt I was somehow intruding, when I wanted to speak to him..and so I backed off .. So that one ended..
If you are really serious about meeting someone, you will take the time and get to know them.. one on one.. email, whatever messengers you choose. and ALOT of phone..
I have met someone from online in the past, and it does work.Just takes effort and alot of communication.. Good Luck to You...

You see I too had seven dates during 2008/09 but I couldn´t possibly say here why I didn´t want to have a second date.
It´s not fair or polite for those who may be reading. They are all members, not regular contributors, but I know some read the forums.

Mine were from other dating sites and not this one. I haven't found someone here. Probably won't since I am too, too honest.

Well this is interesting. Several people have said their dates were not from here but from other sites.

none from online yet [ ive been using internet datin for four months ] have found a couple of people from newspapers etc tho in the past year and trying meet a guy from a online free newspaper ad soon
