I actually think I saw my would-be abductor on an episode of cold case files once. Scarey! The guy on TV had taken a mother & daughter boating in the Gulf of Mexico, tied them to cinder blocks & pushed them overboard.
The last near death experience I had is when I was recovering from my surgery and I spent all day on the internet. I thought I was going to die from boredom.

In April 1984 I had a serious motor vehicle accident, where I almost killed my best friend, who is still undergoing major rehabilitation to this day.
As I was 18 at the time I didnt cope very well & attempted suicide, sleeping tablets & alcohol. Dont remember much but later found out that I was close to dying myself if my parents hadnt found me

I am so glad you made it out of that. You are the best
Seems there are many people with different ideas of what a near death experience is? here were two of mine...
I decided to go and check out the Sari Club in bali at 7am the same day it was blown up. i stood in front of it and just looked at the place. it was the first time i had shown any interest in it at all. I wondered about taking my friends there that night. in my head i heard a surprising very assertive "No!".
i said to my friends same day, as we went to Lombok Island instead, that australians are going to be killed in the world somewhere soon. my prime minister (howard) had guaranteed it will be so.
They said they were going to ask me to take them to the Sari Club that night and asked me to take them to a lombok disco for the first visit in their lives to a disco then. i was told of the Sari Club bombing at 11pm as i danced in this alternative disco.
There was another disco burnt that week a few days before the Sari Club and Paddie's discos were bombed. it was next door and 4 storeys above my hotel room. i had to evacuate in case we were burnt out too.
it didn't make international media and was assumed to be an accident at the time. i actually went down beneath the deserted back of the building while it was still on fire to see what it felt like to confront my fear like that? the army and 5 fire crews attending, with thousands of shocked onlookers too.
i took 1400 pictures in bali that trip, many recording the grief and fear and shock of an island in mourning and with not another white face anywhere to be seen for the extra two weeks i stayed. those pics still bring me to tears. there were only 3 passengers on my jet home.
