Sunshyn35: I personally do believe God answers prayers. He answered mine when he healed my mother from cancer. And to this day she is still cancer free.
I think God works in mysterious ways.
Does he answer prayers? I don't think God will do anything for me that I CAN do for myself. I think I'M expected to get busy on the possible, and leave the impossible to him.
LILONEINTX: Yes, I do believe in answered prayers! God has answered many of our prayers and has intereceded for us.
The bible tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith. The bible also tells us... seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be open for you.
The world says "Seeing is believing." The bible teaches us that believing is seeing. You MUST have faith.
Prayer without faith is like not praying at all. Just like when you give, if you give with a hard heart, it's like not giving at all.

So are you saying Gods love is conditional? he will only answer you if you believe ?

Hmmmmmm!
How do you know its God and not just coincidence? I mean Atheists have good things happen to them all the time and experience Good outcomes to things they thought were doomed to failure or disaster.
Just a question! Not intended to upset anyone ok? but...
How do you know its God who is answering your prayers?[/quote]
God the Father is a spirit and must be worshiped and prayed to in spirit. You don't see air or the wind, yet you know for a fact they exist. If in no other sense, you accept this on faith. This is how you must accept God also....on faith.
If you were to think about it, you could'nt even get out of bed in the morning without faith. Your faith tell's you there is a floor to put your feet on.
How does he show he is blessing us when we disbelieve?
He made us human, he knows we are human. He knows we get hemmed up, and mixed up in all the ugly things in life. Let me see if I can explain it better. I have five kids, I know that one is honest, one is a liar, one rebels... so on. BUT! I have to give them all the same love no matter what. So even though some of us disbelieve, he loves us all. But he gives us a chance to find him. He does not ever throw in the towel.

I'm not denying his existence H. I'm just asking about prayers being answered. Every time I ask these questions on a thread like this they are ignored lol
Everyone just posts statements to each other and then agree with Halelujah's lol

thank you Wendy, i truely respect your faith, just not one i can share
ever sit out at night and wonder at the amazing architecture of the heavens...
ponder the immeasurable mysteries of the oceans...
puzzled over an act of kindness by a stranger...
had something in your life that was weighing you down... near miraculously be resolved.... against all odds...
spoke a word to another,,, that did not fit your personality... yet spoke freedom or healing to that person... and walked away wondering where that word came from...
of course one could call it all happenstance.... but that would also take great faith....

Because wether they believe in God or not. God loves them it is the way it is.

Try looking at this from a parent's point of view (God is parent to ALL His creation). Do you still keep good things FROM a disobedient child, or do you still GIVE that child good things because you love him/her, regardless of their behavior towards you.

Does my head in
Prayer's are asked on faith and they are answered and recieved the same way. Do you as a good parent, ALWAY'S answer your child's request's in a favorable manner, or do you sometimes say NO, MAYBE, or WAIT? God is the same way, only He has infinately more wisdom and knowledge to draw upon as a parent.
krisha: nothing impossible when we request something good to him.he is always answering us and shows in different way....
Hi krisha i really don't get it at all, so when babies are stillborn or are abused and die what is he showing us then??? that he is all merciful and loving? i don't think so

So are you saying that he Always answers prayers just not in Our time? What if waiting means its too late?
If my child was hanging from a bridge clinging on for dear life...even if they had been naughty that day I'd run to their rescue because if I made them wait it could be too late....Right?

i don't believe anyone is saying this world is heaven...
there is real pain here....
we are not created robots... we have choices and .... often not easy trials to face...
prayer... to teach us... to help us grow...
not only that we will find comfort for self... but that we would grow to comfort others...
