Just suggesting, since I do see many people correcting spelling mistakes with Foreigners, just try and understand this is an International Site...including myself!
Hey to be honest, I think it's a lil mean to correct or criticize anyones typo's or spelling mistakes. I mean if you can't decipher it, leave it alone.
Some people, for whatever reason mightn't be as advanced in language and may just be getting used to a keyboard!

This does bother me when people do this to those who's native language is not English.
As long as we can understand what they are saying, what does it matter?

Hi Ashes.
I am a foreigner also.
There is an interesting thread in full flow at the moment, which you may want to join.

Right!
Many times I type so fast, and am in a hurry to make a post, that I forget to proofread.
I think it's rude to correct peoples spelling and sentence structure unless they ask for help.
I have chatted with a guy from Denmark for over a year. He has asked me to help him with his English...otherwise, I would never, ever say anything to him.

I never proof read! Fark it. And another thing, I think it's off putting for someone to post a thread in whatever manner they do and for their mistakes to be highlighted from the get go.
Look, when people spell "definitely" "definately" in their OWN language it's just damned annoying! And when they write "could'nt" instead of "couldn't" it's even more damned annoying! But apart from that, alright then I'll make friends with them...

Well...since you are Swedish and I am Danish, two words won´t hurt us, right?

It drives me batty when I make a spelling or grammar error. Typos are not always caught either. But, I will not point it out from anyone else because I can almost always understand the point. Gibberish not included however!

drivenbysound: Good point.
I found that highly interesting when I first joined. English speaking members who's first language is English spelled, and misused grammar more so than any of the "foreigners".....
I was just agreeing with your opening post in an odd way (I thought it was funny).
In any case, I don't mind spelling mistakes. If I can understand what they are trying to communicate, then there is really no need to correct them unless they ask about their spelling.

Should I have clarified "they" in order to avoid any misunderstanding?
I'm also happy that this is not a Swedish forum, then I'd be that guy who makes spelling mistakes all the time
