any lie is a no no to me. and i've always meant that and acted upon it. we live in 2009. adults should've realized that lying only causes more problems than we already got.

I don't have a problem with white lies, such as if you ask someone what they got you for christmas or your birthday and you respond "nothing" or lies of that nature that are intended in gest. I do however have a problem with lies that have a way or either leading to more lies, are about the relationship itself, etc.

Good question. The only thing I could think of is, if you are underage, or are ashamed of your age somehow. Don't quite see why someone would be ashamed of their age for the simple fact, if someone can't accept you for something so minor, then it's a relationship you are better off without.------ This poll is Archived ------

Hi Morgan, always love to hear from you. You'll have to forgive me for my slow response, my modem is currently damaged..
But to respond, yes, I agree, it's pointless to lie about issues such as that. Matter of it's pointless to lie in general (again, except those innocent times in life such as I mentioned previously).
To answer why they may do it in the first place, all I can think of is that, they get themselves so caught up in wanting to please that person in the hear & now , that they forget that one day that the lie is going to catch up to them, especially should they ever meet.

I met a guy on here for a date, his profile stated he was 5'8", when he turned up he was shorter than me!! i'm about 5'3". The fact he was short didn't really bother me what put me off was the fact he had lied.
