ch71sha: I think you can become interested in a person sight unseen, but I am not sure any deep chemistry or affection can develop without voice, visual, mannerisms, no this is not a outer superficial thing either. Sometimes points of attraction can actually come from some "imperfections" sorry a better word escapes me.
Besides if you have not even heard their voice, my biggest fear hear is she may sound like Fran Drescher (the Nanny). Her voice can peel the enamel right off your teeth.

Falling in love happens through projective identification. What feels so good about the 'in love' state is that the 'other' is, for the moment, able to reflect our missing piece(s) back to us. A sense of euphoria then occurs. This kind of 'in love' state doesnt usually last for long, reality has the habit of replacing fantasy.
So yes, you can fall 'in love' with someone you havnt met.

i think that the idea of 'love is in the air' came from this intense desire to fall in love without seeing each other, because the only channel through which love can travel back and forth is "Air" in the sky.

SummerUK: So are you all saying that Blind people can't fall in Love?
Hi Sommer I'm not saying that, but for me i would have to meet a person and spend time with them before i could truly say i loved them.
On the internet we really only see of a person what they want us too. I had been talking to a guy on here, phone web cam all seemed good. Within 2 days of meeting him i couldn't stand him, he was so different to what i has believed he would be.
Personally, i think you need to spend timw with a person before you really can begin to know them
