reconmarine: If in time of peril, who would you prefer to be there with you?
Having been Prior Service Army, I chose Marines for the simple reason, Marines are trained more so in small unit tactics which in a sense can be more effective for defense of an individual.
However, if it was to hold an area and attempt to hold it with less collateral damage, I would choose an Army unit. Marines are in a sense a little more aggressive and tend to destroy first and ask questions 2nd.
virgiomonkey: ........British Paratroopers or the British S.A.S.....Lets say Americian armed forces have a bad habit of firing on friendly forces.......

Happens all across the world. Happened a few months ago with the Isreal's IDF. Happened to the British I believe last year as well.
Friendly fire, although tragic, happens when you have scared young men, whom desperately want nothing more to be home, in a far away land fighting the enemy for the first time in their lives.
I will stay with my first answer, the AIR FORCE and the F-16...if you have seen them, and I have up close, I worked at the AIR FORCE ACADEMY. By the time you hear them, its to late. I would really hate to be a enemy of the US and their fighter planes. in this day and age, its what its all about, boats and tanks are a little slow
