Yvonne66: Can a woman persue, should it be equal or should we just wait for the man to do the first moves. Primitive thinking, genetic or just oldfashion.
I would love to make a move on a guy but i dont have that "hey i fancy you confidence" in me...i couldnt hunt..
rodolpho: Most men are blind to signs I would buy a red flag if I was you
hahhaah ok Rodolpho, Iam on my way. to some point your right. geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, how can we go back to those nice days, when the guy had to do all the working, while we sit back and our cheeks turn rose/red

I think that due to the confusing signals us ladies give out sometimes, I think that the man has kind of sat back a little, and waited.
I personally dont have a problem with making "The First Move"; if I see something/someone I want, I go for it. You can make the "initial advance" and still be a lady. I think the guys appreciate that, for once, we have taken the initiative.
I like to be pursued, yes, of course..its very flattering..but dating is a two way street, and sometimes you just have to go for it.
I consider myself old-fashioned and conserative, and have been told that if I don't make the first move that I may lose out on the man I'm interested in. I just don't want to come off as being desperate, plus I've heard that most men don't like women that come off too strong, either.
I'd much rather the man be the hunter.
I also have had it said where a man would perfer the woman to make the first move cause he's scared of rejection or may sometimes lack the confidence to approach her.

Well, Im NOT desperate, and I make the first move sometimes!! Ive seen it said on here many times by guys, that they would be DELIGHTED for a woman to make the first move for a change..
Also, perhaps thats the reason why women also dont make the first move too - for fear of rejection..

It guess it mainly has alot to do with how I was raised I guess. My parents were old-fashioned too.We were never allowed to approach a guy call him and asking him out on a date cause it was more proper for a girl to wait until a guy asked them out.We were told it wasn't ladylike to do certain things or act in a particular way so guys didn't get the wrong idea about us.We also had to be in by a certain time on school nights and weekends.
Example:Men who wished to date any of us girls had to come to the door and knock and ask for either of us or we weren't allowed to date them.
I'll never forget the time my sister was old enough to date and the guy pulled up in our driveway and honked for her to come out.My father without saying a word walked out to that guys car reached inside the car and released the hood latch and walked around to the front of the car and opened the hood and undone the horn and then walked back over to my sisters date and told him that the next time he came to pick up my sister that he'd better come to the door and knock and ask for her like a gentlemen.

Hi thump The funny thing was that that very same guy who wished to date my sister told my father that if he'd had a daughter that he'd done the very same thing.

Thats very true, somechick..
I just feel sorry for the guys these days sometimes, because I think alot of ladies can give out conflicting signals..
But I agree with you; its installed in us through culture alot of the time..
I would rather be the one getting asked on a date, but things have changed in the last 18 years and I hear it is ok if I do the hunting,so...I am off to grab my Smith and Wesson....LMAO...Just kidding... I think it is best if the man does the asking, but since I have just now got back into dating, everyone tells me guys like it if the woman asks them on the date...So...it really does not matter either way,as long as you go on the date!

I too feel sorry for the men and wouldn't wish to be in their shoes. I've seen where they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.I also agree with you that alot of ladies do from time to time give out conflicting signals and have wittnessed this going on.

I truly believe, that if us women want to achieve want we want in life, we have to stop confusing being "strong" with being "loud"..
An assertive, clear thinking woman is very different from a loud, beery, constantly swearing one. Some women dont seem to know the difference.
