I used to dream that someone was staring at me through window blinds - interestingly enough my granddaughter has the same night terror and I have never described it her - she told me about it when she was four (she's seven now). The nightmare only happens to her when she has stressed herself out during the day - about once every three months - mine was the same way.
I have had this dream forever it seems,I am standing on the edge of roof of tower block of flats and i feel total terror in my dream yet im not really afraid of heights..

Bentlee: i wonder if this is something most kids experience. :) Cheers.
Mine was a nightmare, trapped in a very tight space and there was a constant humming sound that kept making the space tighter to the point i couldn't move at all.
I had a dream as a child that most people would think of as a nightmare, but to me it was always something to look forward to.
At night when I went to sleep after a particularly hard or traumatic day, I always dreamt I was abducted, tied up and blindfolded and led away by a group of people who were considered by my family to be undesirables.
Remember I was only a small child at the time, maybe 6 years old.
In the dream, they used to discuss how much ransom to ask for me, and I always was afraid they wouldn't ask enough, and I'd have to be returned to my parents.....
That dream went on right into my teens, and I used to hate to wake up and find myself at home again.
My dad gave me his dad's Inuvialuktuun name. My dad would tell me stories of my grandfather, of the struggles they had in their days back then. My dad also told me that his dad was a very hard worker and,one that never gave up a fight whether it be for food or to survive.
The name was given to me after my grandfather passed. I have a recurring dream of my grandparents living in an old canvas tent out on the tundra. They looked like they had a poor home to live in yet they looked happy.
It's funny what you can remember even after death.

I had a recurring nightmare about jumping off a desert cliff into my grandma's big blue swimming pool. When I hit the water, I would wake up with a bounce on the bed as if I fell or was dropped.

I remember some dreams like that, wake up totally startled lol. :)
Ashes: Not myself....thank God, but my 19 year old Daughter, till this day has a recurring Nightmare, same as her......ex Dad...I mean same Nightmare......
did they ever talk about his before she started having it?
When I was small, I had a few reoccuring nightmares. They scared me really bad. I hated it. I don't really have dreams now, just can't sleep very well.
Does anyone here think that dreams mean anything? Or are they simply rambling thoughts of a very tired imagination while we sleep?

Actually they did´nt....he has not seen her for 10 years, lives in the US, she is in College there, but I raised her alone. I DID tell her, he had the same ones...have no idea why? Rather odd...but, I do hope she gets over it.... She is quite HAPPY otherwise, and loves the Life I have provided for her....but I saw your Post and it caught my attention.
