Just curious as to the general view.

yes it is. atleast send a email that u wish to stop talking to that person.

NO it is not rude to stop answering if previously you ask to stop
Yes it is rude to stop answering if previously you have not ask for
and i have found that some people write me and even we dont correspond, but as to answer a specific question related to the forums, they will not answer me back when i am the one originating the question
but they demand an answer when they are the one asking
the e-life is rude
they behave this way because they can hide behind the keyboard
in real life, they will be moe polite as to avoid being rejected

I am usually very prompt in replying so i would find that a little careless or insensitive but they could have their own reasons..

It's not rude it's a choice. If I'm choosing to ignore an email then there is a reason I am doing so.

Speaking for myself if it's someone who emailed me I would consider it very rude to me if I didn't at least thank them for writing to me.
If I responded back to them asking them to stop emailing and they continued I wouldn't consider it rude to ignore them.
If they continues to make a pest of themeselves and continued to email me I would block them out.
