Seems to me that you have been looking for the wrong women. Be selective, you will see that real women are great and if they are your friend, you have nothing to worry about.

sorry if it came acroos as a go at you JD it wasnt. Our aboriginal people are in the midst of a national disaster ( no Im not exagerating), we have sadly had to use the army as they are the only organistation equipped to deal with a lot of the issues they are facing. Of the different communities all are now classified dry areas & alcohol is not allowed with in 300km of the region. The current figures which were done by not just the Australian Government but Red Cross, UN, Amnesty International and several ofther organisations is that the Australian Aboriginal people in the communities over 92% are affected by alcohol with children as young as 3 having problems, 98% of all aboriginal teenage children addicted to petrol sniffing, which has sadly also seen petrol sold in the communities of upwards of $100 a litre for that purpose. an out of the ordinary average in Violence especially towards women in the communities but with children upwards of 83%.... Sadly it goes on and on, they have been neglected for generations & the problem swept under the carpet, sadly they wont accept help from us whites which is understandable, but the sad aspect is that Both UN & Amnesty International stated if nothing is achieved bt 2010 then we will se the destrcution & possibly oblivion of the Australian Aboriginies

I would hope not!
I think I saw a documentary somewhere and the Aboriginies said lack of support in the first place led them to the current situation.

thankyou it is sad. I give up about 2 months of the years to assist in the aboriginal communities , as my business background specialises in irrigation & horticulture. so I assist on a voluntary capacity in both teaching them how to improve these areas & also assist in the construction of water suppy, orchards & food growth

That's good. Many times some counselling and trying to instill renewed pride in their heritage, language etc.. goes a long way in healing the soul.

...I have the privilege and the honor to known some aborigines here in New Zealand Tainogirl....they are on the whole, a very 'spiritual' race of people ....very much like our original native people here New Zealand called the 'Maoris'.....and Yes we had our issues here as well...like some there Lands were forcefully taken away from them by our so called Government in the late 1890s..
prairiewoman: we certainly can be a force to be contended with, can't we...
No doubt.. but for many reasons, I will have to say that.. there are many positions women are not equipped to handle.. This may get me some nasty emails... etc etc.. but I always have believed in calling em as I see em...

And that's what i call a "real" woman...a woman who is not afraid to admit her limitation, not as a WOMAN, but as just a human. There are a number of things that men also are not equipped to do.
avecaim: of course we aren't, we're equally human some of us also had a bit of the old school upbringing just happened to be in CA in the 80's We may be tough and strong willed, sliging expletives around our homes one minute and mannerly and charming the next. Women are great "code switchers" but we also have our weaknesses. Someone just played a song I love and it reminds me of this phenomenon
