Some of the rodeos we went to there would be no running water as in washrooms. Just the taps where you could fill up buckets with water for your horses.
Picture this....bald prairie, middle of the night, pitch black and you gotta go. Grabbed the flashlight that's needed to help dodge the gopher holes lying in wait between your tent and the outhouse. Remember there is usually no TP, so you take your own. Get to the outhouse, put the flashlight down for just a second...somebody backs into the outhouse with a 1/2 ton. This causes it to jolt, sending the flashlight into the partner hole.
Most things around here, I've learned to take care of myself. Things get done and they work - or I get rid of them. Don't have a lot of patience for accumulating stuff that doesn't work properly. If I can't figure out how something should be done, I can usually hire someone to do it for me.
When I miss having a man around the most, is when I need to be held for just a little while.
My cat is always right there with me. Sometimes even dipping a paw into the water, then washing her face.
Usually horsing around on the edge of the tub. Of course, one day she lost her footing. One leg went in, just about up to the hip. Luckily for her the water wasn't that hot. Not a happy camper. All I kept thinking is that if she's scared she comes to me and she has claws....
She is still goes in there with me but I've noticed that she's keeping a healthy distance from the edge of the tub.
Fair enough. Snakes are cool but I prefer them from a distance. I used to volunteer at a Zoo in Alberta - we did some snake handling (very empowering to confront a fear) - still not fussy on them but I do respect them. There were also cockroaches there...
I am a little 'iffy' on insects, although 'walking sticks' are cool. Spiders, snakes and cockroaches - no. Pretty well anything else I could love. But everything has a purpose.
If it's a no-kill shelter like ours locally, they will have some volunteers who will care for them and play with them. Hopefully they will all find loving homes sooner than later. If there is an upside - it is generally easier to find a home for a kitten rather than a full grown cat. Bless you for helping them out.

Don't lie. While you may get one date out of it (depending on what you lie about) when they find out that you lied - you won't get another date.Put up a good picture of yourself and be honest in your profile (and forum posts for that matter) - let people get to know you.
