Maybe I am just being a grammar snob, but does anyone else get put off by profiles if their English is not correct?

Am a being too difficult to please??

I agree.
I really do not get the snobbery.
Fair enough if they are from an English learning country, even then I am not quick to judge.
I'm crap at math and all things mechanical but I have a good grasp of the English Language, hopefully someone won't judge me for what I lack, more so for the attributes I do possess.

Unnecessary, to be frank.
I'll give a person a fair chance to express themselves, again I lack plenty of education. Just because I can spell correctly does not make me any more intelligent than anybody else.
In fact, strangely enough a lot of people who are more than apt to express themselves in a language may completely lack common sense.
Balance is the key.
I'm not saying that I don't get peeved trying to decipher an e-mail but I'll still give it a fair try.

Ah no, I'm just saying that just because some of us have a grasp of a language doesn't make us superior to anybody else. I'll be the first to say that it is annoying trying to decode a message that makes no sense......... But I wouldn't dismiss anyone for making an effort.
I may be alone in this belief, but it is my belief.

It all depends on where that person is from who only knows very little english, it doesn't neccesarily reveal everything on whom this is so you just investigate further. Simple as

With most of them it's not a matter of bad English, or poor grammer. They are date site SCAMMERS that run things through translation devices. Thats why their English is always broken
and sounds a little off. "BE CAREFUL"

I have many friends who are dyslexic, and I completely understand where you are coming from.

I found it very difficult myself to find the right words to fill in my profile and as a budding writer.

I am however an English Language fanatic, I find it difficult to accept the way the English Language is becoming forgotten and to be honest I find it very difficult to understand half of what the kids are talking about today, however I digress and I guess I am too picky, too fussy and too English!!! LOL

Might go towards explaining why I am still single though!!!sigh tongue

I understand where you are coming from on the English Language....some of our Youth here in New Zealand,I swear are talking in 'Txt' Language ..L.O.L......On another note,I have read so many profiles,or both genders have said on the forums they are looking for either 'Mr' or 'Miss' Right.....Well there is no such thing as a Mr and Miss right....we all have our 'flaws' and 'imperfection' both in 'body' wise and in our 'character' make up....have a little think here, on what I have said...grin

I'm certainly not perfect in my English and grammar. However, yes, it does bother me too.

Well if you know anyone looking for Miss Right send them in my direction!!!!

As my Daddy says - 'You are Miss Right!! First name - Always!!' Sorry could not resist!!!!

Isn't it funny though how as individuals we are all attracted to different things! But that is why we are all so different! Otherwise we would all look like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie!!!yay

It bugs me too. However, i try not to let it get to me. I'm a creative writer at heart (maybe some day by profession) but i worship my spell check and suspect i give my editor fits.
The ironic thing is I have a touch of o.c.d. and it drives me bonkers when i'm trying to read something and it's obvious the author hasn't even made an attempt at proper spelling or punctuations. And this is concerning English language natives.
