RE: running in to you ex...............

I know it is easy enough for me to say this, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over either one of them. She obviously wasn't much of a friend (why did she 'need' to prove anything with someone you cared about?) and if he was game to take her up on the offer with no consideration for you - you're better off without him too.

I think a lot of us on here could come up with some horror stories with dating and relationships but I figure that my exs' are exs' for a reason. Not much chance of my turning back for a second go around.

Don't give up on men though, there is bound to be at least one decent one out there for you.

In the mean time, enjoy CS, make some friends. You never know who you might meet here....

RE: What u can give your sweet heart?

to the right person goes my heart, he also gets my trust, companionship and other 'benefits' that I'm not going to discuss here blushing

RE: Red River Rising...

Thanks for your concern...can't speak for other Manitobans on here but I'm in no danger of being flooded out. My house is not in a river's path or alongside one. I do dispatch ambulance here though, so I've been a little busier at work lately.

Things will work out here - they always seem to.

As to what other people do - to each their own.

No video, I was too busy laughing....

I guess I'll have to keep my camera handy, just for stuff like that.

Hope everything's going well for you! wave

RE: absenteeisn ca. forum

I was watching a rabbit out in front of my house trying to get across to the neighbor's yard - apparently his traction on the ice is no better than mine....laugh

Thanks, I needed that!

RE: 15 DAYS

I do wish you well on your move - what an adventure! This could well be one of those things that you look back on with your son and say 'do you remember...' in later years. Everything will get done in it's own time and the 'what if's' can drive you wild until you're on the road. Even then it may well be like it's happening to someone else and you're just along for the ride.

So enjoy the ride!

RE: Do you think you're attractive (good looking)?

I don't see them screaming off in the other direction when they see me. laugh

However, I am comfortable with myself and I think that's more important.

RE: Dating over 40 Yrs. Old

Dating has become harder but not because I'm over 40. I have other priorities in my life, work in a demanding profession and also work shifts so as a result I have not gone on a lot of dates. However, the ones I have gone on have been those I would like to think of as 'quality' dates - meaning that there has been some effort made prior to the date itself in getting to know them and them getting to know me. These men, few as they are, are ones that I really do want to get to know better.

RE: Ever thought about living on a Barge ???

I had not really thought about a barge, however the idea of living on the water is interesting.

I do quite like the house featured in 'Sleepless in Seattle'.

RE: do you worry about germs

I do wash my hands a lot and we go through a fair amount of hand sanitizer at work. We also use sanitizing wipes to clean off the surfaces at the work stations after a shift change and sometimes more than once when someone is sick and still comes in to work.

Even my headset gets a wipedown with an alcohol wipe at the end of a tour - and I'm the only one who uses it.

RE: How important is it for you to be married?

For me, not very important. I can honestly say that even as a little girl, I've never been one to fantasize about my wedding day, as some little girls are known to do. Even now, some that I work with would have you think they have everything all picked out (the dress, the flowers, etc.) and that it's just a matter of finding the groom.

I would rather find a person that I want to be with and who wants to be with me. If marriage is something he wants, we can talk about it. I've never been married and perhaps you can't miss what you've never had.

RE: a little treat for the ladies who like men in kilts.....

And I thank you for thinking of us!

RE: brownies with frosting

Look into the Moosewood cookbooks - you may find some options there.

RE: Do you belive in finding...

I do believe in this.

RE: brownies with frosting

I would like to have this recipe. While I'm not really big on chocolate myself - I do work with a bunch of 'chocaholics'.

Spring fever?

Not quite here yet either, and I wasn't kidding about the snow. It is knee-deep in my back yard and likely just as deep in the front, plus it was snowing when I went to bed last night.

RE: Is there any hope for the Older set to find their 1 true love?

There is always hope. I don't think there is any secret formula, just being happy with yourself. Others will see that and be drawn to you.

Hope you find what (and who) you are looking for.

Spring fever?

This past weekend, our clocks moved 1 hour ahead for Daylight Savings Time and this is a light at the end of the tunnel for me indicated that Spring is not far away.

When spring fever hits you, what is the first thing you do? Plan your garden? Hit the home supply store for backyard supplies? Dig you way through the snow out to the gardenshed to see what you need to buy? Start on your spring cleaning?

It's coming....boogie yay

RE: Revenge, Getting Even, etc.

I won't deny that I have taken some measures of revenge in the past - one that comes to mind involved me getting a little carried away with the laundry soap while washing someone's jeans this of course resulted in 'soap lumps'. Yes, I could have rinsed them out before drying - but the point was better made taking an alternate measure. Why should he get to spend all his time with friends and usually in a bar while I tackle 'domestic bliss' in the form of his laundry?

The other incident involved a very upset friend, her recently ex-boyfriend showing up at the same rodeo with someone new and being overly blatant about it (including moving his campsite right next to ours). When they retired for the night somehow his wooden steps for the camper ended up in the bonfire angel

The best part was when he came out of the camper the next morning...

I will say that I have learned that karma is the best revenge.

RE: Forget people pictures in your profile

Just imagine how popular you would have been with the other local cats - not only did you take one in and help him when he needed help but you fed him well too! laugh

I had a neighbor that was a sweet woman - but I had heard about the condition of the inside of her house from other neighbors. We would chat on the front lawn but I would never go inside. They eventually condemned her house and it was moved out (mobile home) - all of her neighbors oddly enough had mouse problems shortly after.

Maybe some never learn to clean properly, but there is a difference between being messy and being dirty. I do go through a fair amount of 'Mr. Clean'.

RE: Forget people pictures in your profile

The only reason for me that I would hesitate is that I am a rather private person - not many have seen the inside of my house - at least not until I get to know them better. My house is a reflection of me in a sense as the artwork, furniture even my dishes are a personal choice. My place is tidy, that is to say that everything has it's place, however, you may find the odd dust bunny - I do have a cat so there could be cat hair on the couch. I am by no means the 'white glove' that my sister is as my house definately looks lived in. laugh
