I have made such a move when I was younger and single. I left NYC to go to VA, then to TN with the same person.
I have lived in the country for many years here and have met a very nice guy from up north. I could not move now because of circumstances surrounding the granddaughter I am raising now. He won't leave where he is living, one because that is where he always lived and two because of his job. So I am just his "buddy" now, but that is still better than having nothing at all.
Can we say..."been there and done that"...............
"de javu".........................
"handwriting on the wall"........................
or.......just when do the DEM plan to do that next bailout?
With now only $116b left in TARP II. Yes, they spent a bunch of it over the last few months as the town hall occurred. The town halls were about many things....but mostly health care.... the DEMs used the public focus on health care to spend much of TARP II. One can wonder why that CA Marsh Mouse is smiling so much these days.
BUT.......make that a BUT in 20 point phont, please. They also allowed mortage loans to be rebundled into those financial packages. Can anyone say (new regulations and rules for financial institutions) with a straight face, please.
Now....FHA....the primary FED housing lender is in trouble. Having 20% of loans going bad. And yesterday, Bank of America announced a $2.24 b lose for the 3rd quarter. Citi Bank and JP Morgan already had reported 3rd quarter loses.
The foreclosure rate is staying steady, with unemployed decreasing slightly over the 3rd quarter.
Though the stock market hit 10000 for the first time since the economic crisis of 08. Mostly on guess what? industrial earning and improved GNP. But companies that have downsized are basically doing more with less....to increase profits. So it is not being seen across the economy yet.
SO? ....make that SO? again in 20 point phont. The banks that are taking loses.....will soon be back with hat in hand for a FED gov't bailout. And FED institutions like FHA will being standing in line with them.
The economy is still driving on one cylinder. FED government spending. To be running full speed, it needs ...consumer confidence and spending (most stores are projecting a bad holiday). B to B investment (but Rush Limbuagh cannot be part of a group to own a pro football team). In the black financial institutions.
But as we all know by now......Health Care is the big challenge and if we get that done....consumer confidence will occur, Rush Limbaugh can own a football team, and the financial institutions will be in the black.:-)<----sarcistic smile
Expect the next bailout early next year. The DEM know that doing during the holiday season makes for trouble when they come home for the holiday recess.
please mods scratch these post from this thread.......was intended for the Dude's Obama....how it got here.....I don't know....

RJP401: I know, it's been done. Thank you to anyone who lets me know that it's already been done. And I also understand how ridiculous this is. Thanks in advance for pointing that out too. I've always lived in the city. Between parents, I've lived in Providence, Rhode Island and NYC, New York. I've been talking to (and even took a trip out to see), an amazing girl that I met on a vacation. She's been asking if I wanted to move out to where she is, and I'm considering it. The thing is... she lives in some DEEP country. I mean, they make horror movies set in this kind of place. I don't know if I can handle that So, anybody have any advice?
I don't know what kind of job or lifestyle you currently have but it sounds like you will have to give it all up to move to be with her. I'm intrigued she's expecting you to move. I wonder if she would be just as prepared to move to be with you. Hmmm.
If you do move, where will you work? Will you be able to find a job that at least pays as well as the one you have now? How easily will you be able to meet new people & make friends? Just depending on your gf for social interaction is a lot of pressure on your relationship IMO.
I guess the flip-side is that 'amazing' people are not always that easy to find. If you really feel you cannot be without this girl, you may find you will have to move, whether you really want to or not. I suspect deep down you probably already know if this will work out long term. Good luck.

I am used to traveling and living in different countries, therefore my answer would be yes. I would do it but there has to be something extremely special going on between me and that man, there has to be a very strong connection and excellent communication between us. I would fly to the moon if I had to, only to be with him
