I recommend taking a year off to travel & broaden perspective before launching into a major you might later change your mind about.

Travel a broad sounds nice. I think that many students that take too long of a break never make it back to school.

dunno

Yes, that's a risk. To clarify, I would make definite plans to attend college before taking no more than a year off.

Since life, and the "world in general" is NOT fair..scold
Like the race of the turtle and the rabbit..
dilly-dally AFTER you win..!!
But if you're set on loosing ...
I'd recommend taking time to "find yourself" and
"experience life"..roll eyes
that way those with determined ambition will
really pull ahead..
and then,
again, you'll have another
reason, or excuse to blame your failure upon..
Just my opinion,
yours may vary...dunno

could be a good plan. I recommend going to college asap and if you are in tune and know your passion major in it and if it changes it changes. It depends on the person and what they think life is. Some are creative and some have to go by society and they are ego driven. peachandshake professor

Good advice. Taking a gap year is a good idea for the reason you gave, and it adds a little experience to your resume.

It depends on your financial situation too. I didn't finish college and I think part of the reason was that I had to work at least 35 hours a week and go to school full time. If you could work and save some needed money for a year, then you could devote more of your time to classes. dunno
