I know you are asking the ladies here. But let's get serious. Just as different men value different characteristics in a woman, different women value different qualities in men. There is really no great mystery here, you weigh the presence or absence of what you want most. If you are trying to match the expectations of somebody else in order to make that special connection, then you either do not really know who you are and what you want, or else you are not being real and nothing will ever last. The best bet is just be who you are, somebody is going to like it.
When you don't care whether or not you or she is hot, then you are getting into something that might actually last, because the attraction is not superficial.
