thelastgoodman: Most of the single mothers out there are nothing but brood parasites. Those that aren't can find someone else who has a similar situation to their own, or at least a willing host. I want to invest my energy and my life into the continuation of my own genetic line, not some other guy's genetic line.

ChasingCars: There's something knuckle-dragging about that.

Can we negotiate on the ironing? Shirts are less fiddly than underpants btw ...
Vio80: Poll for men. Do you date single mothers? Is there a problem if a woman has kids living with her and do you consider long term relationship with her?
"How do you feel about a woman who has children? Would you date her?"
Been there, bought the t-shirt, dropped the ice cream, gorged on pizza, barfed on the beer, got the runs, had the shots, bought the postcard, lost it, had the fight, lost the luggage, paid the taxi, done that.

Any man that had a problem with me having a child wouldn't be on my list of dating candidates. My ex and I wanted a kid and so we had one and I certainly have no intentions of appologuising to anyone for doing so. If a guy wants someone who is free and single and can shower them with all the attention then they are within their rights to go find someone who can provide that. Upfront they'll know what the deal is and if they can't handle it then they can get to stepping.

Amity: gawd i snorted laughing. I was hoping you where going to ask me to bottle my flatulence so you can take it where ever you go
I had visions that you might be a little bit more .... femininely fragrant than that... do you eat a lot of chips? And do the kids notice the smell? Or have they grown up with it? Are you grooming them for a career as incontinence Nurse Specialists?

In response to: Yes. If she's the "one" nothing else matters
I think that there is a big difference in excepting a partner who has children and excepting the children of that partner. I have female friends who have dated men who have been all of that towards them but soon show that the children are just a distraction from the only thing he is interested-her.
I would imagine that this is a very big consideration when looking for someone long term as apposed to looking for someone for just the right now,or even getting into the dating game in the first place, esp if the children are young?
Vio80: I think men act rude when they want attention and can't get it any other way (nothing to be proud off). Someone who feels self respect and respects others never acts rude.

Some interesting comments on here. I am a single mum myself and not by choice. I try to keep the two sides of my life apart. My kids mean loads to me but I also have a life. I can understand why some men think we are damaged goods and I hate to say there is some bad single mums out there. Myself I work hard to provide a example to my children but I still have time for my kids and when they go to their dads then that is my time. I don't want anyone else to be a dad to them they have a dad.

Of course. As long as she is a good person having children makes no difference to me
