Maradona, the coach of the Argentinian national team, storms out after losing in disgrace to Germany in the World Cup, claiming that he was lied to and betrayed.
In life and love, have you experienced these situations? Wether in love, friendship or at the workplace, betrayal and lies can be the most devastating issues to deal with.
Famous Betrayal: "Et tu, Brute?" - Caesar's words to the Senator Brutus while being knifed in the back...
Famous lies: "Til death us do part..." - heard weekly in a church near you.
How have you dealt with betrayal or lies, and have you recovered from it?

I threaten to show my Shalonga to their wifes.... sisters ....
I was lied and betrayed by the girl whom I loved for 7 years, to result in a break up !
Its a terrible experience !
Difficult to digest & takes time to heal !
Lying and Betraying will go hand in hand most of the times !
It results in bitterness in the end and massive change in ones beilef system.

But re: the latter, is it a lie if you believe it to be true at at the time? I am lucky not to have had to deal with betrayal, which I think takes a lot of time to heal from; but have definitely had to deal with lies. I always tell myself, they were lying to protect themselves - it was not directed intentionally to hurt me, in fact ironically usually a lie is because they don't WANT to hurt you, and I let it go. The alternative is to let it eat you up like a tapeworm - ewwww would rather not let it get any bigger and longer - would rather nip it in the bud!

I'd had a triple by-pass in '95 and my wife at the time waited til I was back on my feet and working before telling me to get out because she couldn't deal with my having a heart problem. This was just shy of our 10th anniversary. At the time I was going through post op depression and that sent me right to the bottom. Let's just say I pulled myself out and very rarely speak to her.
Had a girlfriend who admitted to cheating twice on two previous husbands but was committed to us. I should have ran when she admitted to the cheating as later in our relationship I found her with someone else. I walked away without saying a word
Yes, often people tell lies to avoid the unpleasantness of having to deal with the truth...we all tend to take the easy way out, innit?

I was betrayed by someone very close to me .
My ex recorded a telephone conversation I was having with a co-worker/friend and we were talking about our boss . Some things that were said weren't so complimentary . He person took the taped conversation to my boss for him to listen to .All because we had a fight and I told him I wanted a divorce.

Yes, strange how things turn out. But it still takes huge emotional intelligence. Hi Muse!
invinciblemuse: To forgive the unforgivable is the most evil thing to do to the person that hurt you - because you'll ALWAYS win any comparison with the person who's taken your place, forever! The sweetest revenge...
