When I’m out I simply introduce myself politely by offering to buy a drink and in return ask for few minutes of their time. I usually get a pleasant response either yes or no.

It's more 'honest' in a way too, imo, rather than all this procrastination, and hesitation we sometimes impose on ourselves.
A lot of people impose boundaries on themselves, which would not allow them to be so bold, imo.

Imagine you have given the net dating a spin, and found it was not for you. Your friends are all married, but, on the even more downside, they don't really have any friends that you would have anything in common with, really. And, you find trawling bars, looking to 'pull' women, a bit of a cliche, would you ever try this..
1) Spot a girl that you liked, not half drunk on a night out, sober, day time.
2) Introduce yourself, politely!
3) Ask her right out, just like that.
I've not really done it quite as direct as that, but close to it, and, to my surprise, maybe I was lucky, but when I did, it usually went well for me!
