katt1017: Here's the truth. If you are carrying a weapon to SCARE someone you are a moron. If you have a weapon you need to face the fact that you may have to use it or risk having it used on you.
When at all possible, 99.999999% of the time it is possible, I avoid being anyplace there is great risk. If I cannot avoid the risk and it is a situation where I can legally be armed, I am armed.

not to discourage anyone from calling 911 in the event of an emergency ...but if someone is physically attacking you the likelihood that you can grab your phone and call is slim. Even if you can it takes time to get that call entered, officers dispatched to and on their way. So yes it is wise to know how to defend yourself against an attacker.
And you shouldn't carry any weapon you don't know how to use and are not comfortable using.
