to be quite honest here i think just about everybody does, i know i do i don't mean to do but its just something we all do, i know I've been judged quite a lot and rather than lamenting that its bad and that society treats people harshly etc you just learn to live with it.

However that being said this turns more often than not to be the first impression and getting to know somebody better often makes you reevaluate a poor first impression.

Rather than focusing on how society perceives you, perhaps you should be searching for those people out there than will actually make the effort to get to know you. Thats how i view it anyway ^_^

i think it is really unfair that people judge other people on how they look, but it's easy enough to do i guess.

All you can judge is about appearance. Sure some ppl look or act quite odd but then again you don't know anything about them. pre judging, mostly yes but that's not the final decission.

How does the old saying go, You should never judge a book by it's cover it's what's on the inside that counts.

Yea to simply judge someone by their looks is shallow and is a way to totally misinterperate someone in who or what they are really like. eg someone who may be the most beautiful person you've ever met could be inside a real cow of a person for whom you wish would just fall of the face of the planet. Even though we say we don't judge others by their appearances we all do to some degree, its unavoidable as being human beings. All in all we shouldn't do it.

it is ashame but true, something that is natural and very powerful.

keep up appearences friendly ppl who are nasty behind closed doors, but others believe that they are wonderful is hard.

I think its a bit of a loaded question that each person is free to take their own way. Sometimes it is required that we take a person on their looks and actions for if we give them the chance they could do us great harm. But on the opther hand treating someone as a lesser human because they are ugly or not up to our standard in some way or other is a separate kettle of fish altogether. All we can do is work on past experience and trust in our instincts. Actions speak so much louder than words :)

I rely on my instincts. I have been in the hospitality industry for a very long time and I can pick with great accuracy the customers who would be the whinging variety before they even open their mouths. People put out vibes and use body language that can be picked up on so if you are in tune with these you can make a fair assessment. It isn't always accurate but it is a sound method for me and I never completely write someone off until I know more. I think almost everyone has something fabulous to offer this world whether they realise it or not.

Its funny really how I feel about someone! its what thier personality is like. I have seen some really impressive looking people but its how they come across" if they are mean, troublemakers, liar's and cheats no matter what they look like or how they are dressed it makes me turn cold.
But sometimes you get a person that is not quite as attractive as thier peers as they feel bitter and jealous of the so called beautiful people and have a chip on thier shoulder because of it.And every so often it comes out and when it does someone always gets hurt, seen it happen.

After all my rambling on as usual'' what I am trying to say is I could not give a stuff about looks its the nature of the beast that counts with me.

That is so true Martia. I have often found that not so attractive people become better looking the more their personality shines through. It is also important to note that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what appeals to one may not appeal to another, thankfully or there may be no helping some of us!!

well i myself like to be the best person i can be compassionate, funny, patient and understanding so i am the complete package, and don't have to rely on my rugged good looks alone. oh also i am big on modesty and being humble to.
