I believe the Bible is the word of various elements who over the centuries have corrupted and perverted it for their own ends.

Yes I believe the Bible is the Word of God. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I am not wanting to appear critical, nor is it my intent, but who said that all or any scripture is given by inspiration of God and that it is a profitable for doctrine etc.

No, I don´t think so. It is a literary-reigious interpretation of old traditions, tales, old customs from that land. Nothing sacred, it´s only in their religious mind of some people. Ancient people created God (or gods) to understand the world. These statements are not mine, this is what the archeology, history, anthropology, sociology , philosophy sciences say.
I think we should value the Bible in a more humane, material, and realistic way than the religious one

I realy don't know that mutch about the Muslim one, but the one we call Christian bible was a coplitation of many centurys . Christianity ( or the one we know ) started about the third century in Rome . It was fitted to there lifestyle and subsuquently coppied ( not verry acurately ) over the centuries . Parts where deleated or added to suit the political or religious needs of the time . It morfed into the one we use today . If you belive it was devinely inspired is your perogative however to think that every word is his is not in keeping with known facts about it . . . .

The term "word of God" always refers to the oracles of God as expressed in the Torah (the Law). The bible is a collection of various works, including the TaNaKH (abbreviated from the Law, the Prophets and Writings) as well as the Renewed Covenant scriptures. The "word of God" itself is the Torah.
Most Christians incorrectly believe the bible is the word of God, fundamentalists even believe it is the King James Version of the bible.

See my note on the subject. The "all scriptures" and the "word" are not identical. The scriptures contain the "word (= Torah) of God".

At school I was taught to pray for he jew´s God all days. I became a real atheist as a result. I think religion and religious people should be aware of their inhumane actions because world react in different way than the sacred words say.
