I do prefer the truth and if I had sent a mail/flower and he is not interested I would appreciate his telling me that.

Once, I did send a bottle of wine to a person he did not give thanks or replied.
Later we met at the forums and I did find his postings interesting.

I did write him again, he did reply and we wrote a couple or so of messages.

I did write him again and he took like a week or more to reply. I knew he was not interested since the begining but I did try.

In real life I am categorized as a too quick person to make decisions. My friends always tell me that I am not patient enough to get to know a person.

This time I even wrote a couple of times to that Gent, I am improving.

We must be prepared to get a yes, not and even a "maybe" and we do have the same right to give it.

Do not take things toooo seriously, anyway a meeting will be the test to know if there is chemistry or not.

I quite agree with you that the real test comes when you meet for the first time. A good point to remember though is that a simple meeting to say hello is not a committment to anything but just that. I think there is, frequently, too much made of the meeting. It's the second meeting, if you desire one, that is more. You have decided you like something about that person and would like to know more. Each meeting brings deeper insite of the person you are meeting. Now the fun can begin because by now you can predict whether you can only be friends or maybe lovers. At this point the final decision of intimacy is in the hands of the female, no matter how much a fellow may press for it. And give her a break guys, if things get out of control she is usually the one that gets hurt the most. We can just change our address and phone and act like it never happened.

I was replying to the thread as to what I prefer.

I always answer mails, as you well know

The first meeting is to see if there is some attraction and some common grounds to go further on the romantic side.
Sometimes the most we can get is a friendship and to me a “friend” can be much more valuable than a “Romeo”.

A friendship can be for life.

I have not a problem if a Gent tells me he is not interested in me on the contrary I do appreciate his honesty. Besides I am a grown up girl so I can take NO in that matter.

In another occasion a Gent did start writing to me and I found him interesting at first, after a couple or so of messages he said to me that he would prefer not to write anymore, my answer was ok, no problem but later he wrote me again and then I was like:
What do you want???

I got up set at that moment not hard feelings now.
