Having spent quite a lot of time in North America and trying to learn a few things. I don't profess to know anything re America but I can say that I've crossed over the "Tacony, Betsy Ross, Ben Franklin, and Walt Whitman Bridges" Taken photo's of the so called "Presidential House" when Philadelphia was the Capitol of the US way back in 1770 on a temp basis. I feel very proud "as a Brit" to be able to remember "certain history" of America. I even saw the "Liberty Bell" encased in the glass case. Sometimes, I think that "Some Americans" don't even have a clue about their own "Country" teddybear

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

An "old video" but still makes "us" LAUGH..............grin

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

I don't care anyway as we say but yet I do for some unknown reason. Please take care and stay safedaisy

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

Why are my posts being "edited"? or deleted? I thought it was "free speech" as Americans say..........teddybear

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

America needs to wake up......Stop trying to blame others.............

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

I'm going to tell you something. I'm so proud of my Country "Spain" we don't need to argue with other Countries. We "Spain" are not gonna try and "sue" China for trillions of pounds or dollars or even euros. We just care about all the lives that we have lost. Maybe some people will try and think about that, rather than money.............. yep I'm angry..........

RE: Where did the virus really come from???

@ JN. I appreciate your comment, We are all in this together. No matter what Country you come from. I have my opinions re America and Trump doesn't even come into my vocabulary. .......

@ BW So what do you suggest we do "as in Countries"? excluding "America"

RE: Forgiveness

@HarbalE. Likewise. I'm a Brit that's lived in Spain for many years. I do however read up for hours every day (nothing else to do during our strict lock down) Spain tends to keep things in perspective. We're not the "top of the news" and that's the way I like it to be honest. We're getting there "slowly but surely" and we are so Proud of Spain and what we've achieved these past 7 weeks. It hasn't been easy by no means whatsoever but we had no choice but to stick to the strict rules. Our Police Force were out patrolling the streets/road blocks etc.., making sure that we adhered to the rules. Some people may say that it was "too strict" but Spain is now reaping the benefits. If you look at the statistics. The Uk is now only 3000 deaths behind Spain as of today 26th April. Look at America. My best friend lives in NJ. I visit him once or twice a year, 6 weeks in the winter months and for my 90 days (on my E.S.T.A.) during the summer months if and when I can get there. I talk to him every night on the phone. Way back in early March (13th) to be exact. I told him that Spain was going on a "Strict Lock down at midnight "(14th") I understand that the US have different States and different "laws" within each State but come on. When I was talking to my friend in US when we (Spain) started our lock down. US had hardly any "cases" Now look at where you are now. I don't care if it takes another 6 months of our "lock down" My life is just as valuable as anyone else's. There's nothing that I would love more than to be with my family back in the Uk. I cry a lot being here on my own, knowing that I'm unable to get on a plane and just be with my family in England.

As for America. That's not for me to Judge. I don't live there. However, I think that Trump has now "reaped" what he's "sown" He has shown his "true colours" and I think "personally" that many Americans will think the same...........

"Not worth the effort?"

RE: Something positive

Sorry, wrong video doh

RE: Something positive

As we've just started our 6th week of "strict lock down" and we can't go out even for a little walk or exercise (only to shop for essentials) *or only if you're taking you dog for a walk and only within 50 metre's of your home) You have to provide a receipt of your shopping. I've been searching high and low for one of those Fisher Price little wooden dogs to take out. Or even a knitted dog. Just to see if the Guardia would pull me up. I would say "well it was alive yesterday" grin

Cheer up and stay positive teddybear

RE: BCG (the TB inoculation) could be an answer

@ MollyB
I'm the same. There's too many conflicting stories out there on the internet. So how do we "actually" know which is correct? I must admit that I do look at the "worldometer" each day to see how Spain/ Uk and US are doing. Whether it's up or down. It's looking like Spain is now on the decline but how do we actually know? We can only look at the statistics on the internet.

I talk to my friend most nights via viber, he lives in a small town in South NJ. When we (Spain) went in strict lock down on 14th March, they hadn't gone on lock down then and hardly any cases. Now look what's happened in the US.

I just hope that the scientists/researchers will carry on and try and find a vaccine for this deadly virus, even if or when it dies away.

I have my flu jab every year after suffering with it for 3yrs on a trot. I've never had flu since. I just buy it every year from my local pharmacy and my friend "who is a Nurse" doe's it for me, as she knows how I hate injections. She did my daily injections in my stomach (for 32 days) after my hip replacement.

Hoping that this horrendous virus will or can be stamped out. I want, need to get back to the Uk to be with my family like a lot of us do..........teddybear

RE: September.....

I moan about the weather around 8 months of the year. Summer months are so unbearable at times. June, July and August are the worst but September is still in the 90's. I moan when I go over to England and stay with my family. All that rain and dismal weather. Then I moan again when I go to America for Christmas (for a couple of months) as it's bloody cold. Christmas 2017 was the worst. It was -16C in South New Jersey and the skin on my face peeled lol......I had to book an early flight back as I couldn't stand it anymore. I needed to get home for some warmth and sun. Having said that, we still wear boots, leggings, thick coats and jumpers here where I live in winter but only from January to the end of March. I only use a mobile gas heater in the winter months and my gas bottle lasts me for 2 winters so it costs me 16 euros every 2 years. I'm not complaining grin

RE: This Past Weekend

I love watching the football when I'm over in America for a couple of months at Christmas time. I have lots of Philadelphia Eagles T shirts, leggings etc....Still have the T shirt when they won the Superbowl in 2018. I was back home in Spain for that game but watched it here at home. I'm learning more about the game when I'm there and pass the Eagles Stadium when arriving and leaving America........grin

RE: Profile photo

All my photo's are "real" and taken this year by my friend on my mobile phone. All are taken outdoors. I don't do "selfies" and I don't see the point of photo shop ( wouldn't know how to do it anyway) or this "beautify" stuff. The only time I use anything is when I'm singing on an "online karaoke site" using my cam and then I can use "borders, filters etc". I only have 1 photo from 2 years ago when I had dark hair but again, taken by a friend. I've been on this site for about 11 years but changed my name. I never came into the "Forums" I just used the site to play the "Face Puzzles" plus another couple of games they have on here. I'm a "newbie" to the Forums but not to the site.................
